Who can see what. One screen, set by hand.
This is the s2Member replacement. s2Member owns the members, generates its own front end, and decides visibility on its own terms, which is why nobody is quite sure what a given account can see. Here there is one table. Every page has a visibility setting, the team sets it, and that is the whole system. Underneath it is nothing more exotic than WordPress roles.

What each level means

Public
Anyone, including search engines. The default.
Signed in
Any account, free or paid. Used for release forms and order pages.
Member
Free membership. The meditation archive, the e-book, the MP3 and courses.
Practitioner
Certified Brain Soulutions practitioners with an active membership.
Attendee
People booked onto one specific event. Packing lists, visa info, group logistics. Access ends automatically after the event.
Hidden
Not in menus, not in search, not in sitemaps. Reachable only by direct link. For internal pages.

When someone is turned away

A prompt converts better than a wall. It is also less confusing.
Send them back after signing in
Rather than dumping them on the home page.
Hide gated pages from menus
People only see links they can actually follow.
Keep gated pages out of search
noindex on anything above Public.
